The Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, yesterday visited Ode-Oolo, Inalende and Omitowoju, areas of Ibadan which was gutted by fire in the Ibadan tanker fire incident.
The governor pledged government assistance to the victims. The fire was a result of spillage by a fuel-laden tanker.

The governor directed the state commissioner for health Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, to arrange for the treatment of one of the land lords in the area, Alhaji Yinusa Ajibade, who was injured during the course of the fire at the expense of the government.

Governor Ajimobi told the Ibadan tanker fire victims to take solace in the fact no life was lost. He told those affected by the fire that he has asked some government officials to compile their names and indicate their property lost to the fire for a possible compensation by the government. He however warned them to be sincere to avoid putting the government planned compensation in jeopardy.
