The kidnapped fair skinned Nollywood actress Nkiru Sylvanus has been realeased by her abductors. It was reported that Nollywood actress was kidnapped in Owerri around Concord Hotel Owerri in the company of her friends. The unknown gunmen that kidnapped The Special Assistant to Imo State governor on Public Affairs, Miss Nkiru Sylvanus, demanded a ransom of #1Million naira. However it was not confirmed if any ransom was paid for her release. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adis Bolante, confirmed to THISDAY that Nkiru Sylvanus has been released and that the Police are instrumental to her release.

 Gunmen numbering about 30, late Wednesday stormed the residence of expatriate workers and engineers of French company Vergnet, in Rimi area near Katsina in North-West Nigeria and abducted a French citizen and killing two persons. According to report, the abducted engineer, name with held, a French citizen, had just returned to Nigeria from a trip when he was abducted from his residence. Vergnet, an alternative energy providing company, is working on a wind power project in Katsina where the incindent took place. The  The incident was confirmed to Agence France Presse, by Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Magaji who also confirmed that a security guard and a neigbour were shot dead in the attack.

There was an electrical fire incident on Thursday morning at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos as reported by source.  According to an eyewitness, the fire emanated from some cables melted under heat, as a result of some welders working at the extension of ‘D’ Wing of the international airport. Power supply was swiftly cut off by airport officials to the arrival and departure terminals, in order to forestall any unforeseen development and isolated the scene of the spark. The fire fighters deployed in the affected area were able to put the situation under control. However, power supply was restored to the airport terminal within a few minutes. Flight operations were not affected while the incident lasted.

Olufunke Oladeojobi has been dragged before the police by parents of students in her school for allegedly carrying out virginity tests on their wards without their consent. Ayo a pupil of the school said, “We are over 600 in SSS 1 but only about 300 of us are females. Those of us that are virgins are 38 and we were matched into the principal’s office with the assistance of members of staff. One of the pupils on whom the virginity test was carried out on accused the principal of using her hand to puncture her ‘honey pot’, causing her to lose her virginity instantly. Nollywood actress and the Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor on Public Affairs, Miss Nkiru Sylvanus have been kidnapped in Owerri, the capital city of Imo state, South East Nigeria. According to Channels Television report, “Sources close to the Nollywood actress said, she was kidnapped yesterday night, around Concorde hotel in Owerri, where she went for an official engagement”. Sources said that the kidnappers have contacted the Imo State Government demanding for a ransom of N100 million for her release.
