Mr. Shame "my oga at the top

The Federal Government of Nigeria said yesterday Wednesday 20th March 2013, that it had not taken any disciplinary action against the Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Mr. Shem Obafaiye, following the interview he granted a Lagos broadcast medium.

The Federal Government reacted to claims that Shem had been sacked on the orders of the Minister of Interior, who supervises the NSCDC.

According to Vanguard contrary to the rumoured sack or suspension of the “my oga at the top” officer, who has become popular as a result of the controversial but hilarious interview with Channels, the government is yet to take any step to sanction him.

“It is not true that the ministry of Interior has sacked or suspended the said officer. The man in question had taken permission to go and bury his father and there is no truth whatsoever in the wild allegation that the ministry of interior had sacked the officer,” a source close to the ministry said.

Shem, however resurfaced earlier in the week after burying his father,  and was quoted as saying, ”I am still the State Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps  and I am determined to work hard to expose the vandals across the State.”

When contacted, the Special Assistant to the Minister of Interior, George Udoh, confirmed that Shem had not been suspended or sacked as claimed in the social media.
