AFCON 2013: Nigeria 2 Vs 1 Ivory Coast

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated tournament favorites Ivory Coast 2-1 to reach the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations, (AFCON 2013) sending Didier Drogba and the entire Elephants of Ivory Coast team home.

Two goals from Emenike and Sunday Mba were enough for the super eagles to advance to the semi finals. Sunday Mba scored the winner with a shot from outside the area in the 78th minute, to make sure Nigeria advance to the last four for the sixth time in eight tournaments. 

Nigeria chief coach Stephen Keshi said and quoting him 'Before we came in this afternoon nobody gave us a chance, but my boys showed character.'

The super Eagles will be facing Mali in the semi finals.
