Blood Flow In Ogun State

Sorrow, tears and blood filled the air at Mobalufun junction in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State when a truck loaded with flour rammed into a commuter bus heading to Lagos kill all the passengers on the spot. About thirty (30) persons were feared dead in the auto crash. The incident happened on Tuesday 11 th September 2012. According to a report in the Vanguard, traders and some commuters standing by the road side, all were victims of the auto crash. Some of these commuters sustained serious injuries from the crash. The injured according to a source are receiving treatment at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Sagamu and General Hospital Ijebu-Ode. As at 0800hrs on the fateful day, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Police and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) were seen on the scene of the accident evacuating dead bodies.

Ritual Killing In Anambra

The popular Upper Iweka area of Onitsha Anambra state was in total confusion yesterday as a result of the murder of a lunatic woman by people suspected to be ritual killers and allegedly snatched her son of five years of age.  However there is a conflicting report on the actual cause of death. While the Police in Onitsha are saying that the lunatic was not killed by ritualist, other sources are saying that the suspected ritualist accosted her and forcefully took her son from her. She was killed by the suspected ritual killers because she resisted their move.  The death of the woman was confirmed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Onitsha Central Police Station Mr. Abdul Yusuf who said that no part of the woman’s body is missing and that there has been no report of a missing boy by anybody or family member of the woman. Flood Hits Makurdi

River Benue got angry and took over Makurdi, sending the residents packing as it swept away several houses yesterday. This has rendered many people homeless, damaging properties worth billions of naira. The surge according to witnesses started building up Sunday night and has swept away thousands of residential houses, business places and farmlands creating emergency refugees. Worst hit by the natural disaster are houses around the river bank. The affected communities include Benue State University, Benue University Teaching Hospital, Headquarters of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Makurdi, Kucha Otebe, Gyado Villa, Judges quarters area where the senator George Akume the Senate Minority Leader and Dr. Samuel Ortom the Minister of State, Trade and Investment have their residential houses and many more.
