Breaking News: Gun Men Kill Gombe Minority Leader
Unknown gunmen Wednesday night killed the
Minority Leader of Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulhamid Waziri Doho,
raining bullets on him.
According to a statement by a close friend of the
deceased, Malam Adamu Yakubu, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the incident, “six
strange looking men arrived the residence of the lawmaker, opposite Gombe
State University, at around 8:30 pm local time and shot him at close range.”
He further said that three of the gun men immediately
went into the sitting room of the late Waziri, where they met him and rained
several shots on him, leaving him in a pool of his own blood. His daughter, who
rushed to the sitting room to find out what happened, managed to escape with a
gunshot wound on her left arm.
When contacted on telephone, the state Police
Public Relations Officer DSP Fwaje Atajiri told newsmen that he was still putting
together, his facts on the incident.
