Archbishop Adetiloye dies at 82
The former Archbishop/Metropolitan
of The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Dr. Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye,
has passed on at the aged 82yrs. It was learnt that Adetiloye died in the early
hours of Friday.
Archbishop Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye
was born on the 25th of December 1929 in Odo-Owa town in Ijero area
of Ekiti state. He lost his father at the age of three years. He completed his
basic primary and secondary education in Ekiti state before proceeding to King’s
College, University of London in the U.K.
The one time Vice Principal of
Immanuel College of Theology was also appointed as Provost of St. James’
Cathedral Oke Bola Ibadan under the Episcopal leadership of the Right Rev. S.O
Odutola.
According to Eagle online, the Ekiti
State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi visited Adetilote’s family home in
Odo-Owa in Ekiti state.
