President Goodluck Visits Eagles Training Camp
President Goodluck
Ebele Jonathan visited the super eagles in their National Stadium Abuja camp on
Wednesday 5th of September 2012. He urged them to do the nation
proud by coming out victorious in their match against the Leone Stars of
Liberia in Monrovia on Saturday.
During his
visit, President Goodluck disclosed that he has set up a special committee at
the Federal Executive Council meeting held earlier in the day to find a
solution to restoring the lost glory of the nation’s sports. Jonathan said that he
believe that the Eagles can still re-enact the Atlanta 1996 Olympic form that
gave them the gold medal in football.
The Nigerian
National Team, the Super Eagles will be playing against their Liberian
counterparts The Leone Stars in a qualifying match for the 2013 African Cup of
Nations holding in South Africa.
President Goodluck
could not hide his displeasure over the poor state of the stadium that has been
over grown with weeds, as he ordered the stadium management to take care of the
anomaly with immediate effect.
