Ritual Killing In Anambra

The popular Upper Iweka area of Onitsha Anambra state was in total confusion yesterday as a result of the murder of a lunatic woman by people suspected to be ritual killers and allegedly snatched her son of five years of age. 

However there is a conflicting report on the actual cause of death. While the Police in Onitsha are saying that the lunatic was not killed by ritualist, other sources are saying that the suspected ritualist accosted her and forcefully took her son from her. She was killed by the suspected ritual killers because she resisted their move. 

The death of the woman was confirmed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Onitsha Central Police Station Mr. Abdul Yusuf who said that no part of the woman’s body is missing and that there has been no report of a missing boy by anybody or family member of the woman. Her body has been deposited at the Onitsha General Hospital Morgue by the Police as reported in the Vanguard.

The police are now investigating the killing.
