Flood Send Man To Grave In Kwara

The residents of Akerebiata, Ilorin Kwara state were thrown into confusion and mourning on Tuesday night 18th September 2012 when the news of the death of Mr. Kehinde Ajongolo was announced. 65 years old Mr. kehinde Ajongolo, a building materials dealer, was swept into the river by flood following a heavy downpour on his way home.

The heavy rain, which lasted for about two (2) and half hours, flooded many parts of the metropolis, cutting off the link road between Sobi Barracks and the adjourning communities around Akerebiata.

The deceased relative Mr. Isa Ajongolo confirmed to journalist in Ilorin that he spoke with his uncle on phone few minutes before the rain and never knew that will be his far speech to him. A search party was organized when his efforts to reach his uncle on phone proved abortive. The search party he said found the deceased motor cycle in the river and his corpse was seen a few kilometers away.

May his soul rest in peace. We pray the government to expedite action to repair our roads to forestall similar incident.
