Breaking News: Gun Men Kill Gombe Minority Leader

Unknown gunmen Wednesday night killed the Minority Leader of Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulhamid Waziri Doho, raining bullets on him. According to a statement by a close friend of the deceased, Malam Adamu Yakubu, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the incident, “six strange looking men  arrived the residence of the lawmaker, opposite Gombe State University, at around 8:30 pm local time and shot him at close range.” He further said that three of the gun men immediately went into the sitting room of the late Waziri, where they met him and rained several shots on him, leaving him in a pool of his own blood. His daughter, who rushed to the sitting room to find out what happened, managed to escape with a gunshot wound on her left arm. When contacted on telephone, the state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Fwaje Atajiri told newsmen that he was still putting together, his facts on the incident.   (source)

Pastor Arraigned For Raping 12-year-old girl

42-year-old pastor of a white garment church, with name Alao Shobowale, who allegedly raped a 12-year-old foster daughter of his neighbour was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos on Wednesday. Shobowale, allegedly lured the girl to the toilet of their residence and raped her. The incident according to the court, happened at 10, Togodo Street, Temu, Epe, Lagos State at about 10pm on December 15, 2012. According to the police, the alleged rapist apart from having sexual intercourse with the girl, also “sexually penetrated her anus.” He was slammed with two counts charges, bordering on unlawful sexual intercourse and rape, which according to the court, is punishable under sections 137 and 259 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011. D1, as he is fondly called, made some investment for the future of his family with one of the reputable investment companies in Nigeria. The issue now is that he is having difficulty in claiming his funds when it was time for him to recoup some of the money from the company. India: Two Nigerians Nabbed With Stolen Debit Cards

Two Nigerians were nabbed with a stolen debit card as they were trying to buy jewelry in a jewelry shop in Bangalore the capital city of Indian state of Karmanataka. The incident according to report, took place at Nayarathna Jewelry Shop next to KFC, on MG road. According to Indian Police, a few Nigerians entered the jewelry shop at about 3pm and bought two gold rings worth Rs 1 lakh and presented the debit card for payment. The store’s payment system received a message that the card was blocked because the owner lost it a few days back when the cashier swiped the debit card. The cashier became suspicious and informed the Cubbon Park police who swift immediately into action. Two out of Nigerians that went into the shop were caught. They are simply identified as Fudi and Olabode. The Police are still trying to get the rest of them as they resort to the CCTV footage of the jewelry store. Naija image at stake again.

Sugarcane Seller Stab Customer To Death

What would have been another major communal conflict was Wednesday averted in Makurdi the Benue state capital, after a sugarcane seller allegedly stabbed his customer,19 year old Umaru Abdulrahaman, to death following an argument. The incident according to Vanguard eyewitness took place Wednesday morning at about 10 am in the Wadata area of Makurdi of town. According to the witness, the deceased who until his death lived at number20 Kano street, Wadata had engaged the sugarcane seller in an argument after purchasing a stick of sugarcane from him over the supposed balance the seller was to give the murdered buyer. All they heard was a sudden laud scream and the young man fell to the ground.  When the witness and other people rushed to the scene they saw blood gushing from chest of the deceased where he was stabbed and they discovered that the young man was dead cold while his attacker immediately fled the scene of the incident leaving his victim in his own pool...
