Top Nigerian music icon Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju popularly known as  Fatai Rolling Dollar dies at 86. He died yesterday at Maritol Hospital in Surulere Lagos. 

The death of the Nigerian highlife music maestro was confirmed on Wednesday in Lagos by the spokesman of the Ministry of Culture Ipaye Olajide.

The African highlife music icon according to a member of his band fell ill shortly after he came back from the United States of America about three weeks ago.

One of Fatai Rolling dollars songs “Won kere si number wa” is still enjoyed by both old and young today.

The leader of the Fatai Rolling Dollar and his African Rhythm Band will be missed by the Nigerian music industry and all that love good African highlife music.

May his soul rest in peace… Amen.

Ban On DANA Air Lifted

The federal government yesterday cleared Dana Airline to resume operations. This is coming ninety eight days after the airline plane crash that killed about153 persons in Lagos. According to the statement made by Mr. Joe Obi the Special Adviser (Media) to the minister of aviation, the government restored the operating license of Dana Airline as it was satisfied with the air worthiness of the airline after conducting a rigorous technical, operational and financial audit of the airline. This has generated a mixed reaction among concerned Nigerians. Some believe it is not yet time to lift the suspension, questioning the rationale behind the lifting of the ban on the airline, especially as most of the families of the people involved in the plan crash are yet to be compensated.
