2013 FIFA Confederations Cup- Nigeria 6 Vs Tahiti 1 (Video)
Hat trick
from Nnamdi Oduamadi, a brace from Uwa Echiile and an own goal from Tahiti’s Tehau gave the African champions the Super Eagles of Nigeria an expected win
over minnows Tahiti 6-1 in their 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup opening Group B
match played on Monday in Belo Horizonte.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria only
arrived in Brazil for the 2013 FIFA confederations cup 36 hours before the game
after a row over bonus payments.
The Nigerian Super Eagles were very wasteful
in their finishing. Amed Musa, Sunday Mba and Anthony Ujah are all guilty of
wasting precious scoring chances. The Tahitians show a little class as Tehau
reduced their goal deficit to 3-1 in the 54th minute of the first
half. The super eagles added three more goals in the second half to bring the final score line to 6 - 1 .
With this result Nigeria is now
sitting top of the FIFA confederations cup group B followed by Spain. The Super
Eagles of Nigeria will be playing Uruguay on Thursday 20th June
2013.
Stephen Keshi and his men must raise
their game against Uruguay if they are expecting to come out of the encounter
victorious.
