Ibadan Tanker Fire: Gov. Ajimobi Visits Victims
The Governor of Oyo state, Abiola
Ajimobi, yesterday visited Ode-Oolo, Inalende and Omitowoju, areas of Ibadan which
was gutted by fire in the Ibadan tanker fire incident.
The governor pledged government assistance to the victims. The fire was a result of spillage by a fuel-laden tanker.

The governor directed the state commissioner
for health Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, to arrange for the treatment of one of the
land lords in the area, Alhaji Yinusa Ajibade, who was injured during the
course of the fire at the expense of the government.
Governor Ajimobi told the Ibadan tanker
fire victims to take solace in the fact no life was lost. He told those
affected by the fire that he has asked some government officials to compile
their names and indicate their property lost to the fire for a possible
compensation by the government. He however warned them to be sincere to avoid
putting the government planned compensation in jeopardy.
Properties worth more than N500M was lost in the Ibadan tanker fire
incident.
