Nasarawa Killing: 25 Missing Policemen Bodies Found in Mass Grave
The
bodies of the missing 25 policemen killed by the Ombatse cult in Nasarawa State
on May 7th 2013, has been discovered in a mass grave in an unnamed
village in Nasarawa State Nigeria.
The
discovery of the bodies of the 25 policemen that had been declared missing makes
the death toll of policemen killed by members of the Ombatse cult in Nasarawa
State rise to 72.
The
Security authorities in Nigeria had earlier confirmed 57 security operatives,
comprising of 47 policemen and 10 agents of the State Security Service (SSS)
were killed in the May 7 attack. The attack took place when the operatives were
on their way to a rescue mission to a village in Nasarawa State.
The
Nigeria Police had declared that 25 policemen were missing since their bodies
could not be found to confirm if they were dead or alive and their whereabouts
unknown.
The
Police were able to hunt down about seven members of the suspected Ombatse
cultists in Borno State while trying to flee to Niger Republic.
